shoot 1: Scaled Landscapes
This the best final image from my scaled landscapes shoot. Due to the fact it represented and expresses the scale between both humans and landscape extremely well, the models position also helps express this, by the way he is looking onwards into the ever ending scenery, almost creating a sense of appreciation within the image.
I also particularly like the composition of this frame, I chose a very exposed area to capture the image, but an area that would contain sharp, and exotic colours. By including an exposed, sparse landscape there is a more drastic contrast between the size of the human its surroundings.
Additionally by positioning the model in the right third of the frame, I am able to attract more attention to this focal point, due to the slope of the dune he is standing on, this slope acts as a leading line in the image and helps compose the frame very effectively.
The clothing the model is wearing also corresponds to the contrast created in the image, the red jacket contrasts extremely clearly and efficiently against the deep aqua, blue and yellows in the image, which enables there to be a clearer juxtaposition between the human and the landscape.

During my first practical photographic shoot based on my theme of ‘adventure’ I encountered many different weather conditions due to being situated in an extremely remote location off the west-coast of Scotland. So this ultimately allowed me to create a superior range of different images that told very different stories and expressed a lot of different settings and landscapes.
My aim was to document the humble placement of the human in contrast to the surrounding nature and landscape. So this meant composition was extremely important. The way on which this photography was created was achieved the desired altitude up the side of the lower side of a mountain, so I could express the different contours in all thirds of the frame. This would also help position the hillwalker, more strongly and with greater meaning.
The overcast, hazy condition, did not allow me to be as creative as I wanted to be with the use of colours within the image, however I was able to solve this problem by anticipating for the best light to break through the haze, which would increase the general opacity and visibility within the frame. Also with the post production process I was able to retrieve a decent amount of the visibility and data within the frame as well, which made it more aesthetically appealing as a piece.
