Leading Lines - final image
This image that I produced was created with leading lines in mind. I composed the image so that the road played the biggest leading line role within the frame. I did this effectively to set the scene for the kayak athlete in the image, the viewers attention is taken along the road and throughout the photograph. Making it a very well composed photography, that effectively leads the viewers eye. By positioning the athlete in the strongest part within the image, meant I could somewhat additionally strengthen the focal point within the image, this placement of the human also filled quite a bland neutral tone (the surface of the road) which enabled me to bring more interest in this photograph.
The fence posts within the frame are also help alongside the road to lure the viewers attention through the image.
The tones are very emphasised within this photo, due to the fact its Black and White. However the gradients and different hills and contours create emphasised grid lines within the photo, which creates a much stronger composure within the images and very much defines a much more strengthened position of the human within the frame.
The juxtaposition within this particular frame is also an aspect of the image that really enabled me to create a visually sound image, but also a deep and high contrasted black and white image. With the added contrast I was able to emphasise the terrain and create a striking and effective surface foreground and background within this photograph.
Attention is also brought to the model in the image due to the fact the kayak position whilst he is carrying it, is purely perpendicular to the main leading line aspect of the image (the road), meaning this will act as another aspect of contrast in the image which enables a much more compelling scene and composure, which will instantly draw attention from not just this area, but all areas of the image—making it technically sound.
